Some of you may have been thinking, where the heck has Lauren been? Or maybe you’re seeing my blog for the first time (if so, hello!)
Whatever the case may be, I have been out of commission for a few months due to an intense job, the stresses of moving, and really just trying to get my life together. After a few weeks of really trying to organize my life, it’s back to the blogosphere (do people even still say this?) for me! I hope you all enjoy what I have in store from beauty, to fashion, to home, to lifestyle, to travel. I want to take it all on. If you want to see what’s next, make sure to subscribe and comment on all my content to come.

March has come and gone and its finally starting to warm up! March marks the beginning of spring, and I’m excited to start wearing dresses and rompers!
What are you guys excited to wear when it gets warmer? Now, on to the favorites:
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
Everyone I know with fair skin is obsessed with this blush, saying it gives you such a beautiful glow. When I saw it at CVS, I had to grab it.
Spoiler Alert! Everyone is right. I have been reaching for this over and over again because it gives you a quick and easy glow. Who doesn’t want that?
Boots Perfect Light Pressed Powder in Medium
I actually got this from my mom because the shade was too light for her. I am so glad that she gave it to me, because this is slowly becoming my holy grail powder. It is so finely milled that no matter how I put it on (brush, a puff, or the little sponge that comes with), it always looks good! I use it to set my under-eye concealer and my entire face. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes
I happened upon this in a Harmon and I have never seen this anywhere else since. I generally find that all the matte lip creams from nyx are really bright, but this one is more rosey and neutral toned. Let’s just say it’s a great everyday pink that I couldn’t stop reaching for in March and intend to keep reaching for in April.
Boots No7 Shine and Tint in Ballet
This is one of the new releases from Boots that I discovered at the Boots Beauty Takes NYC event in March and I really love it. I admit I am not much of a gloss girl, but there is something about this color and the texture of this formula that I love. I like using this when I just need a hit of color. I also like that it doesn’t have any shimmer—just a smooth glossy finish. It also leaves a slight pink tint behind, so I don’t have to worry about reapplying as much.
NYX Retractable lip liner in Nude Pink
I have a pencil lip liner from NYX, and I’m a fan of that formula, but I really love retractable lip liner so I decided to try this one. I am in love with the lasting power and the color—it is perfect with my skin tone! The only thing that bothers me is that it has a bit of glitter in it, which I find very odd, but that doesn’t prevent me from wearing it. Do any of you know of a shade that is similar to this without the shimmer?
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze
I just recently discovered shadow sticks. I know what you’re thinking: “Where has this girl been?” I don’t know where I have been either!
This has been my go-to shadow for the past few weeks when I’ve wanted to do my make up quickly or do a one-shadow look. They are such good shades, and they are so easy to blend! Get your hands on these! The new Boots No7 Line and Define shadow sticks are really great too, but I couldn’t justify having two shadow sticks in my favorites.
Boots No7 Skincare Day Cream, Night Cream in Dry/Very Dry and Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum
These three items have changed my skin for the better. I have been raving about the day and night cream, but the radiance serum takes it to a new level. I have a lot of dry texture and pores on my face and this combo has really done a great job of smoothing all that out.
All the Boots skincare products I have tried have been great, and I can’t wait to get my hands deeper into the Botanics line! If you try one thing from my favorites this month, make it something from the Boots No7 Skincare line, which can be found at Walgreens, Target, and online.
Kohls Sterling Silver Midi Rings
I have an obsession with midi rings. They are fun and cute, and I think they are a very interesting jewelry piece to wear, so I have been on the hunt for some interesting ones to add to my jewelry box.
These two are from Kohls, and I love Kohls because they sell sterling silver rings for under ten dollars. These two rings together were about fourteen dollars, and I can trust that they will never tarnish. If I really want, I can wear them in the shower and not worry about damaging them. I don’t have anything like these, and I have been wearing them non-stop.

We all love the Golden Globes! If not for the celebrities and movies, definitely for the fashion! There were so many gorgeous looks I couldn’t just choose one. Here are my best in fashion and beauty from the Golden Globes.
The Best In Beauty
Emma Stone- I am obsessed with this beauty look. A smokey eye, soft pink lips, and just pinched cheeks looks modern and sophisticated. Her soft waves complete the look.
Jennifer Lopez- JLo’s smokey dark smokey eye goes perfectly with her nude and silver dress. Her extra bronzed skin is to die for. This whole look screams the Jennifer Lopez we know and love.
Dakota Johnson- This looks is soft and easy yet glamorous. It is a really great contrast with her strong and modern gown.
The Best In Fashion
Anna Faris- This is the best I have ever seen Anna Faris look. The soft beautiful gown is classic and her cute hubby Chris Pratt wasn’t a bad accessory.
Lupita Nyong’o- She was called a fashion icon last award season and she isn’t giving up her title easily. I am in love with this dress. It has different textures and the color looks gorgeous on her.
Emma Stone- This girl can really just do no wrong. She took a fashion risk and it paid off! Love the jumpsuit with the train really made it a golden globes look. I just can’t say enough good things about this gorgeous look!
Golder Globe Color Trends

Red
I think I am in the minority when I say I love the cold. No I’m not a fan of the snow or the other bad stuff that comes with winter, but I do love the scents, the feelings, the holidays and of course bundling up. I love curling up with a hot cup of tea with a cozy sweater and just enjoying time with my friends and family the most. Its cheesy, but very true. Anyway, with that on to the things I can’t do winter without!
The Staple Pieces
The Coat- I am obsessed with coats you can see all my favorites in one of my recent posts all about my favorites coats! I just love that that’s all that people see when your on the street, and coats are coming in all shapes, colors, and materials these days so there are so many to choose from!
The “leather” pant- I love leather pants, but I can’t spend leather money so faux is just as good! These are great for the winter because its a cool alternative jeans, but still just as comfortable.
The Chunky Sweater- When it comes to sweaters I either want to feel like I am wrapped in a blanket of wear something else. Chunky knits are so cozy and they look really great with just plain skinny jeans.
The Must Have Accessories
The winter accessories- I have noticed myself and everyone around me loving a good knit hat! And why wouldn’t you! They are soft, cute, AND keep you warm! Its a win win.
The ankle boots- I have an obsession with ankle boots because I feel like they are the boots that are personally most flattering on me. I love buckles and zippers on my boots, but I also wear a pair of plan Chelsea boots constantly. They are chic and easy and you just can’t go wrong with ankle boots.
The Winter Beauty
This is something I started in fall, but I had to keep it going into winter. I love dark berry lipstick! This berry color above is so gorgeous! Sometimes I go lighter and other times I go extremely dark on the lips, but either way I try and work a darker color for winter!

I don’t know about you guys, but I love accessories. However I don’t have the money to afford the “nice” stuff. Here are some tips for when your looking for beautiful pieces that don’t break the bank, but also don’t break apart.
Necklaces
Bracelets

As it has gone from summer to winter in a matter of a few weeks! I figured now would be a good time to wear a really beautiful coat. With coats its really important to get one you love, but can also be worn for more than one (fashion) season. Coats are an investment, but they are also the only thing you can be see wearing when your outdoors in the colder months. So you gotta make sure its something you like. Below are some images I found that give me coat inspiration. I hope they inspire you too!

When shopping in Paris I had to dig deep to find places in Paris that wouldn’t break the bank. Now I am happy to share my findings with you all!
Boutiques and Chains:
Pimkie- This is like the French H&M, trendy pieces alongside basics with a few bags and accessories in between.
Bershka- More edgy styles. Fun graphic tees, sweaters, and dresses. Very good prices during the soldes or sales and average prices on full price items.
Jennyfer- All kinds of stuff here. I would put this in a similar category as forever 21 with a lot of trendy items.
New Look- I would say price-wise this is like a forever 21 or an H&M, but the clothes and accessories are really cool and interesting.
Naf Naf-This is at the higher end of my price point. Jeans were about 50 euros here. But they have very feminine pieces and you could get something for a steal during the soldes.
And of course Zara and H&M are huge in France too!
Vintage:
Freep’Star- This is a very small place, but if you search you can find really cool pieces. There are also a few locations around the city so you can find the place closest to you.
Tilt Vintage- This place is also pretty small, but they have a pretty good price point.
Come on Eileen- This one was very cool! They had designer as well as regular boutique vintage. You can really get a steal if you search for it.
Kilo Shop- This had to be one of my favorite places. It charged you by the weight of the piece. Say you got a bag or sweater or whatever and it costs a certain amount per kg. It ends up being really great! Just make sure you don’t get anything too heavy.
(The Soldes are sales in France in every single store basically the entire month of January. They hold similar sales sometime in the spring.)
Hey All,
I am now back in the U.S. after my month away and I have learned so much! After being there a month I was definitely able to spot the trends that Parisian women love!
Sweater Over Button Down- This trend involved wearing a pullover sweater with a crisp button down. I love this trend, but I never even thought of wearing something like it until I went to France. It a chic and polished look that can be worn on the weekend to run errands or to the office.
Short Booties- I know what you are thinking, this is a big trend in the U.S., and you would be right. However, riding boots seem to be a bit more popular here than in France. In fact very few people are wearing to the knee or over the knee boots. Its all about the short little booties for the winter months.
Black Tights- Yes we all wear black tights in the winter too, but it is a huge trend in Paris. Even on the most brutally cold days there are girls walking around the streets of Paris in tights. The weather was warmer than it is on the east coast, but not warm enough to be really comfortable in just tights on your legs. They have inspired me to wear dresses in the winter more, because it is so stylish, fun, and it increasing my wardrobe options for the winter months.
Fur- The women in Paris love their fur. I think I have seen every piece of outwear in a form with fur including coats, scarves, hats. One woman was wearing them all at the same time!
Bright Red Lip- I saw this all around Paris! The ladies would be wearing all black and just a bright red lip. It was such a fun beauty look! Its a fun way to showcase your lips by making them the focus of your whole look.
